Fish Stocking
Spring 2008
SaraSpa volunteers helped ENCON with this event. About 1000 trout were distributed to children for release in the Geyser Brook. Attendance was estimated at 2000-2500 people. After the Geyser Brook, three more streams were stocked with trout.

Spring 2004
On April 14th, 2004 the annual Saratoga State Park public trout stocking event was held. Hundreds of children, parents and grandparents participated in transporting Brown trout yearlings (6"-8") from the EnCon holding truck to Geyser Brook, one fish at a time! There was also a good turnout of volunteers for this event. From the SaraSpa club were Stu Hefter, Scott Souza, Robert Linden and Zack Ritchie. Four members from the Kayderosserass Fish & Game Club, and non-club members helping were W. Pozniakas, P. Galeta and J. Trojan. Four Boy Scouts from local Troop 70 in Saratoga, and their Scoutmaster, P. Dumar also volunteered! A good time was had by all participants.
On April 8th, 2004 a crew of SaraSpa members and other volunteers assisted the NYS EnCon in stocking local streams. SaraSpa members helping were: Stu Hefter & Robert Linden. Other volunteers were W. Pozniakas, P. Galeta and J. Trojan and his son.

Fall 2003
On October 16, 2003 the Le Rue creek in the town of Burnt Hills was stocked with Brown Trout by EnCon and members of the SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club. The Le Rue creek is a tributary of the Alplaus Creek in Burnt Hills, NY. About 1400 Brown Trout traveled all the way from Van Hornsville to be released in three areas of the Le Rue. The water temp was a balmy 50 degrees, and was high after the recent rains.

Fish were stocked in the Saratoga State Park and other local streams on April 23, 2003.

Spring 2002
The April 17, 2002 spring fish stocking of the Geyser Creek was a huge success! Hundreds of brown trout were carried from the EnCon truck to the stream by excited children.

Fall 2001
The Department of Environmental Conservation was assisted by club members in stocking the La Rue creek. 1400 brown trout fingerlings were released in many locations along the creek.

Spring 2001
500 Brown Trout were introduced into Geyser Brook in the Saratoga State Park, drawing many families and kids. Approximately 800 people took part with each child being given one bucket to take from the truck to the brook and release. It was a big success, and the event continues to grow each year.
