open House 2009 - Photos

Videos are nice for action - but nothing beats a still photo for drama...

Scott Souza contemplates the tomahawk targets. Check the video page to see if he hits one.   What the hell is that? Oh well, let's just agree to call it a "pygmy moose".

Archery Director Bob Barber returns to the line after engaging the pygmy moose.   The Grizzly stands ready...

As always - we had an assortment of firearms for visitors to sample.   The Beretta "Storm" - always a popular choice.

I guess if we want to raise money - we should find someone less scary looking to sell raffle tickets...   A police training display illustrating how different rounds fare against a bulletproof vest.

The Range House on the 200 is always busy.

The Rifle, Caliber 0.30 M1, aka the "M1-Garand"

A visitor tries one of the many AR-15 variants we had available.   A couple "shops the rack" trying to decide which firearms to try.

See that little orange jar sitting on top of the berm behind the first row of targets? You wouldn't believe what we went through to get someone to hit the darn thing.

The sun is out - but the people under the tent have umbrellas?   Visitors watching action on the 50 yard range.

View from a bench on the 50.  Note the newly refurbished overshot.   Dave Zelker explains his "Mega-Grill" cooking process to some of the faithful.

People couldn't agree if Dave's cooking was "Awesome" - or simply "Amazing".   A first time shooter draws a bead. As it turns out - she was a natural.

A visitor tries to better his wife's performance - I don't think he did.   A couple of satisfied visitors, the smiles say it all.

Swapping stories about who tried which firearms.   Bob Rutland instructs a young shooter. The "young gun" hit the Tannerite, but he wasn't the first. See the video.

Valerie Rosenzweig was the first to hit the Tannerite. Good job Val!   Val's instrument of choice - the Ruger Mini-14

As always JoAnn Zelker put in a full day working renewals and sign ups.  Bob Eggleston's job was to sit in a chair, look to his right, and smile - a job he performed with distinction.
